As Tim let you know here, he’s recorded a studio version of his beautiful Christmas song ‘White Wine In The Sun’ and released it for download with all the December proceeds, once again, going to the National Autistic Society.

White Wine In The Sun [2012]
Written and performed by Tim Minchin
Orchestrated, mixed and mastered by Pete Clements
Guitar – Tristan Cassel-Delavois
Bass – Pete Clements
Recorded by Pat Collier at Perry Vale Studios

It’s now even easier to obtain internationally, even if you don’t use iTunes, because it’s available from 7digital. If you’re based in the UK or the US and prefer Amazon, it’s available from Amazon (UK) and Amazon (US).

Of course you can still download it internationally from iTunes, where you can gift it to another “apple person”, if you wish, by clicking the drop-down arrow next to the price and choosing “Gift this” or on your iOS device, tap the share button at the top of the screen. iTunes will send an email to your recipient to let them know and they can then download it with one click.

This version is taken from the Australian ‘Ready For This?’ DVD:

Sigh… It’s sentimental, I know.

Obviously brilliant- but when and where can we get a download of Woody Alen Jesus?

Ruth Walshe on 20th of December 2012

I download this as soon as it was released! I think it’s a beautiful song-definitely my favourite Christmas song-and the fact that the money in December goes to charity just makes it even better! Merry Christmas :)

Awesome song, Tim! Makes me so sentimental… Even despite the fact that I’m Russian and we don’t celebrate Christmas here. But I’m visiting my parents on New Year. We’ll be drinking vodka in snow!

ahhhh…..love it. My grand-daughter introduced me to this amazing person last week when she came for a sleepover. How precious are our children.

I was so excited when I figured out how to play your christmas song on my acoustic guitar, Tim. Now if only I could get through the singing without crying like a baby, I might be able to perform it for my family. Someday …
In the meantime, I’m sharing your recording and my love for you! xxo

Made it home, from Belgium to New Zealand, after 8 years away … and this is the song I tell everyone about. Love it. Happy Christmas!

This song is beautiful.
But I’ll be supporting in Hillsborough single in the hope it can get to number 1.
I think I’ll be picking this up first thing Boxing Day.

Matt on 18th of December 2012

I love the song, but I don’t like the idea of spending money on compressed music files. Is there any chance of a FLAC or WAV version?

Blurrr on 18th of December 2012

This song only proves that you are a liar. I believe that many times you stated that your songs have no ‘Depth’. You have proven yourself wrong.
Thank You…

Maureen on 18th of December 2012

I have loved this song since I first heard it: it just sums up Christmas for me. And when my blue eyed baby daughter turned 21 a couple of years ago, it was even more special, as she too loves coming home for a family Christmas. And today I am again waiting for her, not in the sun, but wine will be quaffed. Thanks Tim for a song that I will listen too every December. And at other times in the year too!

EmilyPseu on 18th of December 2012

I just can’t buy this song. It makes me weep like a child whenever I hear it. Instead, I’ll make a donation to the National Autistic Society. I’m sorry, Tim, it’s so beautiful it hurts.

Amanda Kennedy on 18th of December 2012

My other half is Australian and listens to this song with a tear in his eye. We do Christmas so differently in the UK to a hot Aussie Christmas, no white wine in the sun here. This is an amazing song. Be great if it did make it to number 1. Amazing Talent Tim!

Ursula on 18th of December 2012

Makes me miss my dad – the most moving Christmas song ever: Logic and intelligence and sentiment and joy and love can go together. Love your brain and your heart, Tim! xx

Andy Mack on 18th of December 2012

I must be getting soft in my old age, I love this song, makes me feel emotional.

Lesley on 18th of December 2012
