Variety Nights

Tim worked with Matthew Warchus on Matilda The Musical and they are currently developing a stage musical adaptation of Groundhog Day together. When he first became Artistic Director at The Old Vic, Warchus announced his intention to open up the theatre for variety shows on Sunday evenings as part of his inaugural season. Looks like he’s starting off with a real humdinger!

UPDATE (12/11/15) Further acts announced: comedian Sara Pascoe, comedy magician David Williamson, Momento Violin Duo and The Beatbox Collective.

Such an awesome night .. The dude with the racoon had me crying with laughter, dynamo had my jaw on the floor and then Tim and the band..well “white wine in the sun” gives me goosebumps and prejudice makes me happy! The new tune was awesome and I cannot wait for the new show. Will definitely be there.

We went and it was just amazing seeing Tim and his band again after such a long time and in London at The Old Vic. He was great and sang favourite songs, ‘White Wine in the Sun’, ‘Prejudice’ and ‘Cheese’ with a grand finale singing his own ‘Groundhog Day’ song backed by the the entire cast of the show. Such a memorable evening for us. So happy to have been there.
