Here’s a place you can leave random comments about stuff that you feel isn’t particularly related to the News. Maybe you just want to say hi. Maybe you want to critique a piece of my work. Maybe you want to ask me where I live and come and bring me cookies. Whatever. Stick it in the box down below.

Oh, and please don’t post links or email addresses, or the spambot filter robot will take offence and refuse to publish.

Hey Tim! Stumbled across you randomly here on the net, and have had 'canvas bags' stuck in my head for three days straight now. You fucking rule mate! When are you coming to Denmark? -Daniel

Claire H on Saturday, 29 December 2007

Mr. Minchin, I feel you're punishing me for not owning an ipod. All the downloads are for ipod only, and it sucks.

i arrived in perth on the 20th so disapointed that i missed you by one day i saw you in birmingham and you are a f**king legend :]

the red witch on Thursday, 27 December 2007

Oh Fuck.... Kirsty's going to kill me.... Constructive is an adjective..... a 'describing word' I'm so much better at 'doing words'

the red witch on Thursday, 27 December 2007

Regarding disappointed fan..... I had some people (fans they called themself *shakes head*) ask me after seeing the show three times 'Isn't it the same show each night?' After I got my breath back I said 'No, no it isn't'.... the delivery of the songs change, the mood and temperament of the audience change, the talking bits change, everything changes, every night and it usually depends on the momentum of the audience. On the Thursday night in Brisbane (correct me if I'm wrong guys... you know who you are) Tim received a spontaneous standing ovation.... The audience just loved him and it was a wonderful night. The crowd just 'got' everything. It was perfect. There was a rhythm, a spark and the audience was like water and just were willing, eager to go wherever tim wanted to take them. Sorry timmy.... it was magic. Then on the Friday night some of the crowd were very aggressive and egotistical which of course put Tim on the spot and altered the material that night as any other night. Some parts were limited and there was much ad-libbing (is that one word or two?) due to a very vocal audience. I DID NOT pay nearly a grand in accommodation and plane tickets, plus on top of that tickets to the show (except Thursday - thankies timmy) to see the same show five times. I went to see an artist 'do his art' in five amazingly unique, different, independent and talented ways. And that's exactly what I got. No two shows or songs were alike, and I didn't expect them to be. Disappointed Fan.... I think you missed seeing the nuance, the subtly, the variety, the depth, breath, and diversity in tim minchin's work. So sad. Seeing tim minchin live, once, does not mean you have seen him. It means you've seen a particular version of him. I found the comment lacked a basic noun essential when criticising art.... 'constructive'. xxxx Witchy

Tim (Canadian) on Thursday, 27 December 2007

I got the DVD for Christmas and surprise surprise I LOVE IT!! My brother bought one for me and one for himself. Tim is Crazy and I personally love his religious views. I could use some good group...prayer. Either way Tim should COME TO CANADA so we can enjoy his brilliance live.

Bronte on Thursday, 27 December 2007

I'm just watching your 'so live' DVD and you amaze me. It's great how the stuff you say can be so normal but because no one ever thinks about it, it's funny. I love your poem "angry (feet)".

Ash on Wednesday, 26 December 2007

yea, just so u know...if u ever want some cookies delivered to your door...no objections to being the delivery chick, just so u know! lol

Justine on Wednesday, 26 December 2007

All the way at the bottom of the page? Nice one. lol, I just watched your DVD; brilliant mate, but the audience didnt seem as good as The Sideshow audiences hey. I love your versions of Rock n Roll Nerd and Angry(feet) poem on that show. dunno why theydecided to cancel but ah well. Ps. Sandgropers Unite!

Alayna on Wednesday, 26 December 2007

You're totally awesome! I'm so coming to your show when you tour Australia in the future. Oh and by the way, I'd be happy to bring you cookies if you told me your address.

Ems on Tuesday, 25 December 2007

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you all got what you wanted (such as a little bit of Tim!! In the form of So Live or a CD or so I mean - not like one of his Kidneys or something!!)

Ellen (just ellen now, ran out of stupid names) on Tuesday, 25 December 2007

Wow... criticizing your work is not a good idea is it? (not that i would... but you do reply when people complain... No, I could never deny my true Tim-loving, fanatic nature.) Man, you have an army behind you. (one that i am proudly a member of)

Ellen (Mwahahahaha! i'm back) on Tuesday, 25 December 2007

Guess what i got for chrissy... no, really, just guess... Tim minchin -So Live!!!!! and it is so cool.

ME! Again... 1. I love that song about the canvas bags... but what is a canvas bag? is it like one of those sainsbury's bags for life? lol. 2. Why does the page go loads that way -> when there's nothing there?

Wahooo! You Rule!! I Like The 'If You Open Your Mind Too Much Your Brain Will Fall Out' one lol that's funny!!!

*Sarah* on Saturday, 22 December 2007

Scot - the dvd is multi-region (PAL only though, so it pretty much plays everywhere except the US apparently). I'm from the UK and ordered mine from Madman, it plays just fine! So buy it! Tim - you're great :D (I'm sure Scot's great too, but I've had a lot less contact with him)

DaveC on Saturday, 22 December 2007

Hi Tim, just listened to two programmes you did for Radio 2 on the BBC and laughed so much, a small piece of wee fell out of me. Hope you will be appearing in the UK (Manchester, ideally - hint, hint) soon.

Ash on Saturday, 22 December 2007

haha, u are WAY to good Tim! I've had 'ten foot cock and a few hundred virgins' stuck in my head, lol and even though im not a religious person at all i go to a catholic school so its not a smart move to go around singing about umm...well yea, anal sex and god hehe!

Ahoy! She is quite a fan of his work and persona! She now has a new 'number one show of her life' on her list of many. She was immensely pleased with the scoring of a photo and signature and would like to thank the legendary Timmy for creating such an amazing and funky performance! Smac (aka Sarah Mac)

ME! on Saturday, 22 December 2007

i have the "so live" dvd and have introduce so many of my friends and family to tim, his quirky and sometimes dark sense of humour has become a hit in our house..... i now take my canvas bags to the supermarket and get weird looks as i cant help but singing 'take your canvas take your canvas take your canvas bags to the supermarket. brake it down' first time i heard tim he was performing angry (feet), it was love at first exposure, i have never been able to have a serious in depth convo since.

Cawls on Saturday, 22 December 2007

Tim is the wittiest, funniest and most talented Aussie around! Guitar sux and piano rox. Oh and disappointed fan, we need your retarded opinion like bananas need pyjamas and a nun needs c*ck.

Jaxx on Saturday, 22 December 2007

Let's see the 'Disappointed fan' write a comedic stage show or two. With music. And let's see them apply eyeliner well. And sing in tune. And be at least slightly funny. In your own time :)

Molly on Friday, 21 December 2007

hi tim, just wondering what you're doing about 'not perfect' now that johnny howard isn't our prime minister anymore (thank god), are you going to change the lyrics, or just leave it and hope that when you're famous everyone remembers who howard was?

ScoT on Friday, 21 December 2007

Dude, there is nothing else to say apart from you rock! can't wait to see when your gunna be playing in england next year, i know its probably nothing to do with you but is there any chance of being able to release your dvd in england, i want it so bad but obviously cant play region 4 dvds! Love your work man, keep it up.

Ems on Friday, 21 December 2007

BTW - The Loving & Peaceful Yuletide Half Hour (BBC Radio 2)- Absolutely tops! Wish we would get decent radio segments like that here. But then again, when you live in "Dullsville" its hard to get anything decent, and when we do, we're all over it like a colony of E. Coli over room-temperature beef. nice.

Ems on Friday, 21 December 2007

To anyone who was in any way disappointed with the show.... You can F**K off. Are you really going to tell me that you would only watch a movie you loved once, or listen to a song you enjoy once.... no.... well then.... f**k off. Keep your opinions to yourself. There is no point posting them here as you will be run out of town (or run off the page??!!....hmm....) I thought the show was brilliant. Drinking white wine in the sun is possibly one of the most beautiful and more than likely the most correct Christmas songs ever. Two thumbs up to you, Tim. PS: hope you're in Perth for Chrissy Day - Looks like it will be a beautiful day for drinking white wine in the sun. I know I will be! x

Dy on Friday, 21 December 2007

Ha, disappointed fan got served. 15 - 0

*Sarah* on Thursday, 20 December 2007

Oh, by the way. In leaving early, you would have missed a brand new song that everyone's been raving about. Oops.

Dear Disappointed Fan...cheer up....have faith...one brilliant show at a time, please! on Thursday, 20 December 2007

Dear disappointed fan. perhaps you should try coming up with a one-man show. Artists, you may be surprised to learn, are not robots. Musical comedy is much like regular stand up comedy, where just one premise or one concept is worked, reworked, reworked, reworked until it becomes right. Again, here is a surprise, after years of refining and creating something lovely (as is Tim's current show) the "next" wonderful show does not just pop out because you have seen it before. If you go to any stand up club in the city you will see great comic who repeat the exact same routines to new audiences without changing them for many months. Creative work is not like candy or soda machines where you put some more money in and get a different product. No doubt Tim will create something new, something brilliant in his many many many days to come. But, disappointed fan, why don't you try coming up with what he has first before you walk out, tail tucked, moping.

*Sarah* on Thursday, 20 December 2007

It's a shame the disappointed fan didn't recognise that, although a lot of the material is often the same, the way that it is performed varies each time, making each show unique and just as enjoyable as the last. I've seen it 3 times, and I still love it. Did you hear a different version of Rock n Roll Nerd to the rest of us? I could have sworn he was putting himself down during most of it...And as for expecting new material: you should have read your program more carefully ;)

Disappointed fan on Thursday, 20 December 2007

I was heavily disappointed with your show last night. Saw you at UWA last year and was expecting new, fun material not the same, 'I'm so clever because I hate God' spectacular that you performed last time. The concept mildly amusing at first but now it's tired and boring. Also, the 'rock'n'roll nerd' song was incredibly dull and egotistical. I left at the interval.

neeve on Thursday, 20 December 2007

i saw you at the maj last night and it was perfectly clear that i was the youngest there but i dont care coz i was so overwhelmed with how talented you are plus i love how take notice of people who shout out to you because its so much better to be recognised then ignored, p.s. hows Evette lol please come to perth again

Mandy on Thursday, 20 December 2007

Saw the show last night and it was excellent - I had tears of laughter. You really are very clever and talented. Please keep up the great work and social commentary.

Sallese on Thursday, 20 December 2007

Saw your show last night at The Maj and you far exceeded my expectations, which I assure you were very high. You are truely a talented person not just with one trait but so many! We laughed our asses off, and were amazed by such a beautiful unique voice and the piano skills of a trained professional (not a nerd...), and not once did I get bored! ha! You are F**king awesome. We will see your show again if ever it shows where we happen to be! You DO rock. And those people who will never see your show...may as well be dead.

Marye on Wednesday, 19 December 2007

Nice trill technique. In the peace anthem, what fingers are you using?

Daniel Wilkins on Wednesday, 19 December 2007

Missing Tim Madly, Love, New York City on Wednesday, 19 December 2007

wow. everyone is just wowed. it's so annoying from the States. you're not here. you're wowing them over there. they are all wowed. and well they should be. but the States. well, NYC, specifically, with our one and only WORLD'S BEST DELI are all longing for the artist formerly known as the canvas bagger. what can we do? longing. what can be done? we have echolalia (the mental disorder where you repeat repeat what you have heard heard) so here you go go.......(music please)....You never need to be competetive....your repetoire is not repetitive....i've never seen you take a sedative...eternally live-able you....you never complain or make fun of my underwear, a real girl would do that but I know you really don't care....

Tim Minchin, I am as straight as they come, yet you I would spend the rest of my life with. I love your work, I love the way you always seem happy, I specially love the way that you have dedicated your life to making other people happy. I respect you incredibly. Thank you.

kim mccreanor on Tuesday, 18 December 2007

So, does this make me a stalker because I have gone to the trouble to google Tim Minchin? I prefer to think of myself as an avid fan who was simply blown away by your recent performance at the Powerhouse. Admittedly I was seduced by your tickeling of the ivories, melted by the dulcit tones of your voice, amused with your musical wit and charm, mesmirised by illuminating blue eyes, and almost speechless at the opportunity to say: "Hello, you made my face hurt". I await with great anticipation for the next coming of 'Tim' to Brizzie. Mrs Mac :) and Smac was chuffed for the photo you graciously posed for, you are lovely.

Sean on Tuesday, 18 December 2007

Hey Tim, your a hilarious guy, i love ten foot cock and a few hundred virgins, and fat children its so true, neways your other songs are good too keep it up its good to see an Aussie out there and making his mark. neways im off hope to get to 1 of your shows soon, or more you know theyre all good lol cya.

Haylz on Tuesday, 18 December 2007

Tim - saw your show last night. I loved it - you're fantastic (even with the piano stool breaking). Your final Christmas song was beautiful. My parents have just split - consequently tearing my family in two so hearing your song made me cry. I loved it - keep doing whatever you're doing.

Sybil on Monday, 17 December 2007

Can't stop singing white wine in the sun. 'Tis my favourite christmas song. Thanks Timmy. s x

D. from Sydney on Monday, 17 December 2007

Tim! Thanks for the show on Sunday, loved every single second of it! To the man in the red shirt, who arrived late with his daughter (?) and asked me for a drink after. Thank you, very flattering and if I would have been single I would have enjoyed a drink after...

Wadman on Sunday, 16 December 2007

I'm sorry sweetheart - you're right. Let's never fight again. xxxooo

tim on Sunday, 16 December 2007

terribly sorry wadman, you're right. it was exactly the same show you saw last year except for: - so fucking rock - if you open your mind too much your brain will fall out - some people have it worse than me - you grew on me - if you really loved me - drinking white wine in the sun oh and also the vast majority of the talk was new. ... which is about 60 minutes of material you didn't see last year. ie - the equivalent of a whole new show. i feel awful that you and your friends had to suffer through some old material. ya fuckin weirdo t xx

Wadman on Sunday, 16 December 2007

Hi Tim We went to see your first tour at Brisbane Powerhouse a couple of years ago.. We thought it was p*ss funny and an awesome display of skill. I am sure your performance is still funny for first timers, but after 2 years and almost exactly the same material as the first show we saw, we all left disappointed.. Let us know when you get some new material! Maybe you can call the new show "So F**king New" and maybe change the colour of your eyeliner so people can sense some "change". Amen

Katherine and Rhiannon on Sunday, 16 December 2007

hello tim. we love your songs...they're awesome! Especially 'Inflatable You ' and 'Fat Children'. Now, one of the main reasons we are writing to you is that we would like to know...what is your real eye colour? I know what you're thinking (eg. these people are crazies), but we actually would like to know. We're getting very confused! Post it somewhere...ANYWHERE. Please? If YOU have pity for US, you will indulge us!

Heather on Saturday, 15 December 2007

Just listened to you on Radio 2 in the UK whilst driving to pick up my son from a gig - awesomely funny so thanks for making the drive more fun!! When are you coming to the UK??

wifebeater2000 on Saturday, 15 December 2007

I saw u "live", on thursday, it was magical, i didn't know what you'd be like, i knew you had funny songs, but i didn't relise that your monologs (?standup?) would be so good and fit in so well. keep it up ur easly australias best comedian (trust me, i know about these things) so just incase you were thinking "thats enough, music and comedy for me, i think i'll become a used carsales man".

Jordan"Chicken"Hochkins on Friday, 14 December 2007

Hey Tim. Just asking i'm new to listing to your songs and i'm only 12 and if mum heard some of your songs my head would be off. But i'm not sure if you have but you should write a song about how John Howard got Crushed "BUY"(sorry about spelling) Kevin Rudd. Not to be mean but it would be funny.

I was at the visy on wednesday night and i can truthfully say that your performance was one of the most enjoyable things i've seen in a fair while (and i'm sure Screaming Amy agrees with me). Thanks for signing stuff and for kissing my mate on the cheek (even though he did lord it over us for a bit). One more thing, your encore song was really beautiful and I'm sure it touched everyone who heard it.

my friend had a dare game at her birthday and mine (with my atrocious singing voice), was to sing the chorus of my favourite song...i spent the next five minutes muttering 'inflatable you' under my breath to figure out my favourite verse...(concerned). so, to cut a long story short...you're brilliant. :D P.S. are you coming to Adelaide any time soon? I sure hope so :D

Tim - loved the show last night. What a genius..(can't half tell what your profession used to be!) We had a ball, and have told everyone to make sure they see you before you finish up the run at the Powerhouse! It's nice to be able to enjoy your wit (censorship free) and have a great laugh. By the way....your Christmas song was amazing...and inspired me to make sure I have a glass of white wine in the sun this Christmas and send the pic to my "Northern Hemisphere" friends around the world! Keep up the great work. Cheers to your wife too for providing such wonderful inspiration.

Amy and I want to thank you very very muchly for signing Laugh-A-Poolooza DVD, Canvas Bag (with Crap in it) and So Live DVD. Your new song about Christmas, your daughter was .. I cannot describe how fantastic it really was, one of the most emotionally touching songs I have herd in a long time. Please stick it up somewhere so I can download it. Also just a side note I want your hair, is it possible to send out instructions or make a blog entry about how you get your hair to look the way it does? I was going to ask tonight but didn't want to distract you from your allegiance of fans.

I have tried so hard to write songs even a tenth as funny as Tim's. I can't make them a hundredth as clever. I can't play piano solos and make them engaging like he does. And yet, I have not yet bought the DVD... And I missed the gig he played in Swindon (which is near my hometown)... Is this blasphemy?

Hi! Man, You're amazing!! I'm watching Your show "So live" over and over again and every time i like it more.POLAND LOVE YOU!! I don't even have my favourite song because i love them all.Keep writing and singing! You're born to do this and You're really are deep guy;) Black out!F**k YEAH!

Prophet on Tuesday, 11 December 2007

Mr. Minchin, what can I say. Just witnessed 'So Live' with a triple layer of briefs on as a safety net and ended up applauding the idea. I was hoping for an small interview with you for a unoriginal blog that me and a friend write on. He recently snagged ex-10CC member Kevin Godley to dish out the dirt and I need to top him, so if borrowing a few minutes for a few questions seems feasible, hit me up on the email provided. Keep writing and playing....so in other words, pliting. - Prophet.

I like the "I WONT STALK YOU" disclaimer below. That must have put your mind at ease. I also like the fact that she must have read through her comment, and then decided that the disclaimer was needed. I've never made such a statement, but luckily I've never verged on stalking. I hope. If I ever come across as a bit stalker-ish, do let me know so I can tone it down.

Di (the nerd of calico) on Wednesday, 5 December 2007

Hi Tim, Went to see you at the comedy festival a few years back (2005??)and just loved your show. I told bucketloads of people that it was worth every cent so I hope they all turned up! I bought one of your calico bags at that show with 'Tim Minchin - rock n roll nerd' on it. I treasure that bag. Was a bargain at $5 and wish I had another. Have you got any more?

Rachelle on Wednesday, 5 December 2007

Just wanted to share a logo for all Minchin fans. I posted a larger version in the Angry Feet Forum if you care to check it out! Thank you for the inspiration, Tim!

"Maybe you just want to say hi. Maybe you want to critique a piece of my work. Maybe you want to ask me where I live and come and bring me cookies. Whatever. Stick it in the box down below." You don't need cookies. You don't need critiques. You absolutely do not need me to say hi (againnnnn). I need to make contact, though. so here it is. if you have pity, you will indulge me. I'm sure soon I will right myself and get on with my life. Right.

Hiiii tim ! i learnt how to play the peace anthem for palestine last week, and pissed my parents off in the process haha. well great music and tell Tony the fish i wont ostracise him !

too late to be posting gotta get up early!!! on Tuesday, 4 December 2007

Ok. This is, if not hilarious, well, then amusing. Does Tim know that someone -- who named themselves EREGILKIBLY posted a link to an over the counter viagra? Does "EREGIKIBLY" have a clue? It's probably one of those "worms" - an auto generated spam to sell the stuff, but all things considered. Uh. Viagra for Tim? That is worth a chuckle. And anyway -- don't buy the stuff -- If you need help then you need a new mate. It's not in a pill it's who is next to you in your bed....!!!!

Okay. Here's how I seem to understand how this works. He ("Tim") graces us with his light, laughter and lovingly razor sharp presence, offers himself to the world with naked chest bared to industrial or small household fans, makes us laugh, makes us cry (go to him and Gerry Lynch's gut wrenching duet of Leonard Cohen's Halleluyah on utube) -- he does all this, and our part, our job, our only one obligation as he sees it is simply to purchase items with an item fabricated with natural fibers? If you don't mind my saying, well, that just doesn't seem fair. xo

Vanessa on Monday, 3 December 2007

Ellen (who doesn't want to be a politician and does want to be a vet) on Saturday, 1 December 2007

Oh sad, i'm late to comment in december. It's funny, i always break out in song at school with 'break it down...take your canvas, take your canvas..." that or 'sometimes i get a bit angry...' its funny, me and my friend say the whole thing in sync. the rest of my group love it, but worry when i say, 'and i'd like to be a POLITICIAN...'

Claire on Saturday, 1 December 2007

I just thought that I should point out that in the pics section screaming is spelt incorrectly. It's written there as "Screming", there should be an "a" in there. Please do not neglect the "a", it is very lonely and needs your love. Apart from that, this site is lovely. It's very pretty!
