Hi Tim My daughter, Nelly and I watched Matilda on Sunday and we thought it was bloody marvellous. I have never been so moved, scared, thrilled and entertained by a slice of theatre before. We sang ' When I Grow Up' all the way back to Paddington...even though those were the only four words we knew! Thank you for creating something so inspiring. I will be taking the rest of the family in the summer. PS loved Woody Allen Jesus

Hi Tim ! I've missed out on tickets to your show in Melbourne, in February. Will you be releasing more seats / shows ? Please. Would it help if I say it again ? Please (just in case). I make the best chocolate & macadamia nut cookies.

Hi tim, thanks for the fantastic brissy show once again - my 4th now, and they just keep getting better and better. When you are in Sydney, you must go and see Annie the musical - it is just wonderful and probably right up your alley. also the legendary Anthony Warlow is in it so it has to be good, right? Once again, thank you for everything :)

I've just recently been introduced to the work of Tim Minchin, and he's become my latest "favourite person". "Storm" is sublime, and I wish I could rave off like that at some people I've met over the years. We NEED you in South Africa Tim!!! There's so much material for you to work with here :-)

Leanne, thank you SO much (see 2 comments previous). I didn't know that Tim had been on the Morning Show and have just been able to watch it on my computer. How is it that he can always be just so normal and engaging without even trying. What a lovely guy! I'm 76 years young he is 15 and his mother is ...in betwen. We are all loving the irreverence and laughter you bring us .If I feel a bit down I can put on a tape of yours and blow the hypocracy and "doom and gloom"that seems to make so many people my age "Happy".Keep writing and performing and realise what a wide range of ages get so much pleasure from your genius.Three generations of this family

Hi Tim, I'm a Church of England Vicar who writes zombie horror novels, so lots of my friends sent me the link to "Woody Allen Jesus" because they knew I'd like the "zombie Jesus" idea... Discovering your work has brought me laughter, tears, and some discomfort... While I think ITV where wrong to censor Woody Allen Jesus, you can imagine I have a different perspective JC! It was the subject of my sermon last Sunday - if you have the time & energy to check out a liberal Christian perspective you can read it here: http://web.me.com/trevordonnelly/Blog/Sermon_Blog/Entries/2012/1/29_Woody_Allen_Jesus.html (I do feel there is a whole strand of Christianity that is politically & socially active, feminist, supportive of LGBT equality, opposes fundamentalism & creationism and is a force for good in society that I would love you to encounter - not to try and 'convert' you, but because I'd like you to see beyond the creationist nutters who seem to have dominated your view of religion!)

Hi Tim!! This is the second time I leave a comment here, so sorry about that. I just returned from England today, and I just gotta let you know that Matilda, is an amazing musical! It was my favorite book, favorite movie and now favorite musical, that is a job well done! I bought the album when it came out and i knew by heart by the time I sat foot in the theatre. I already loved the music, but seeing it performed, was even better. Of course a little trip to England gave me the opportunity to purchase your DVDs as well! Thank you for all the joy you bring to us, Natasja from Denmark (please add scandinavia to your tour?)

hi Tim, I'm your huge fan and i have just bought the "live with the heritage orchestra." it was great. and so i heard your joke about the BNP. actually, i heard it first at the O2. now, i know you're just being ironic when you say the only thing you hate more than a racist are Filipinos. But i'm still wondering... Why Filipino? now, you also said that you could write about it in your website and it's justifiable. so i got curious and asked. btw, i love the "thank you god" and "the fence."

Yair Biran on Tuesday, 24 January 2012
Dear Tim, I just heard your song "white wine in the sun" on youtube and I enjoyed it very much. I got to it after watching the animated version of "storm" which I also enjoyed a lot and so I went on to try another piece of your work which happened to be "white wine". But there was also something a bit troubling for me about it. The song has the following line: "guess I have all of the usual objections to… the westernization of a dead Palestinian press-ganged into selling Playstations and beer". Before you become antagonistic let me tell you that I am not a Christian and I didn’t find anything about this comment religiously or otherwise resentful because of it's depiction of Jesus. At first, I didn’t even understand who was the dead Palestinian. That is also because I never saw anything with Jesus that has to do with playstations or Beer. This is probably the time to tell you that I am an Israeli man. 26 years old and engaged to the love of my life. My English was acquired entirely from TV, music and school – in a downgrading order of significance. My native tongue is Hebrew, so please excuse any mistakes. When I heard the line, being Israeli, I was intrigued to know more about the dead Palestinian (suspecting that my state might have had something to do with it) so I went on Google and on the "studio 360" site I found this: "Finally, at our live show last month, Australian musician/comedian Tim Minchin performed a Christmas song that he wrote for his daughter. The ironies of modern Christmas are rich material for Minchin’s satirical eye (he has “all the usual objections” to “the westernization of a dead Palestinian press-ganged into selling Playstations and beer”), but if this tune doesn’t move you, you’re due for a visit from the Ghost of Christmas Past. This view on the line linked it directly to the ironies of modern Christmas, and that made the coin drop. You perceive Jesus as Palestinian. Personally I think that if Jesus existed and was asked to his nationality, or because the concept wasn’t invented yet, what people does he belong to, he would answer that he is a member of the Jewish people. My hypothesis is that there are 2 reasons which would prevent you from thinking of Jesus as a dead Jew and not a dead Palestinian: 1. You don’t believe in religion and therefore you wouldn’t want to characterize someone according to it. Geographic location seems more objective and correct 2. You don’t see contradiction with someone being a Palestinian and a Jew. But both these reasons are wrong because the word Jewish which comes from the word Judaism which comes from the word Judea, was never just about religion, it has always been also about being part of a people, and the name Palestine is not just a geographical location, today It is also part and parcel of a nation. In fact at the time that Jesus lived (supposedly) the geographical area of his residence was known in the wide world of the roman empire as the province of Judea, named after the last kingdom of the Jewish people (supposedly) hence the coin made by the empire with the words "Judea Capta" – Judea captured – after the Romans won the battle against the Judean (feel free to call them Jewish) rebels. My point is that calling Jesus (Ye'shu'ah in Hebrew, which means salvation) a Palestinian is not only ignoring my people's history and right to be acknowledged as a people and not just a religion it is also wrong from the objective POV. Since the geographical term at the time was named after the Judean people, and considering the struggle between the Palestinian people and the Judean people over this area today, calling him Palestinian is simply not objective. And when you understand the concepts of Palestinian and Jewish as dealing with Peoples (or in our days' lingo – nations) and not with religions or geographical areas, than you understand why it is also contradictory for Jesus to be a Jewish Palestinian. If you are still reading, I would just like to share with you my final thoughts. I can imagine that this letter has made you think that I am in some way a closed minded person. Maybe not by my own fault but in some way I'm missing the more important things in life. I can completely understand this thought. Your song "white wine" was about love, and about how love and the opportunity to demonstrate it to your family in Christmas is much more important than all the other silly things about the holiday – especially the story behind it. And what do I do? I write 2 pages about the line relating to the story. I hope you can understand that the reason I am writing this is the love to my family. Because conceptions like Jesus being a Palestinian and not a Jew/Judean are indirectly but effectively influencing my family's chances of ever living in peace with neighbors who see them as a people that belong in the land and not as foreign implants that deserve uprooting. Sincerely, and with much respect and appreciation, Yair Biran P.S This letter was not written for the forum, so apologies if its too long... Just wanted to get it out there somehow, after all that writing.

Bugger, bugger, bugger. In September I was on here saying how excited I was that I would be coming to see you in Melbourne in Feb. but sadly (very sadly) I left it far too bloody late to book and now it is sold out and I am not coming after all. Can you write a song about me in my despair? Or put on an extra show just for me? Surely that's not too much to ask is it? Or perhaps I could just lie in wait outside the Palais and kidnap you on your way in. I'm sure kidnapping's in the same league as stalking. I've never done it before but it can't be that hard can it? Please email me your measurements so I can plan my attack.

Hi Tim, I first saw you live in Southampton two years ago and have just come back from seeing Matilda! Bravo! Fantastic performance with a really witty script and hilarious lyrics. I keep finding myself singing it! It's quite addictive! Just a thought along with Matilda my favourite book growing up was a book called Harry and the Wrinkles. Don't suppose there is any chance of it getting the Minchin Magic :) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Harry-Wrinklies-Alan-Temperley/dp/0439978378/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1326999485&sr=8-2 Can't wait for your next UK tour!

I've been saving up for a train fare etc For London and a ticket to see you but it would honestly the most AMAZING thing if I could meet you!! Honestly I would NOT shut up for the rest of that week!! And I was wondering, do you think you could sign a canvas bag for me? I think your a bloody genius and I aspire to you so much! I'm not joking, but whenever ( this may sound gay, but ohwell. Karen, I have just seen your comment - 'Thank you God' is on Tim's latest DVD and also on his CD, so you can either watch or listen that way. I can't count the number of times we have replayed the DVD and it brings joy and laughter every time. I was actually surprised at how inexpensive it was to buy out here in Australia, considering the enormous effort that went into the production. Tim must be the least commercial performer I have ever heard of - so much of his stuff is free on YouTube and it isn't even very expensive to go to his concerts (especially when they are such great value for money), so we have to allow him to keep at least something to sell..... It only seems fair.
Karen on Wednesday, 18 January 2012
I went to your show when you were in Cork. Just wondering, could you post "Thank You God" on your youtube channel? Loved it and would love to here it again. Of course, all the usual stuff about you being amazingly talented and an excellent song writer and lyricist applies here too, though I doubt there's any need to reiterate it all since it's been written so many times before.

You make me proud to be an atheist and a pianist (length MUST have a limit haha) and I thank my Mom everyday for showing me Storm which, thanks to youtube, got me into your other amazing pieces of work. You are my favorite artist and comedian and I simply love everything about you. Anyways, I would like to know if you are ever going to do a show in rural New York, or just in New York. And I've heard on your main stalker page, Angry (Feet) Forum that you also meet your fans after the show which excites me very much because to go to one of your shows is number oneon my bucket list and if I actually got to meet you it would make me so happy. Anyways, thanks for reading my rant that is mostly on how amazing you are. Bye!

I must be a blasted fool to discover your incredible genius so late. As a fellow playwright, musician, and I can say it, "ginger", I came across your YouTube performance during a search on Google just today. It was Brilliant! As I watched and listened to more of your performances online, I was amazed at your blend of intellectual comedy, amazing artistry on the piano and superb command of the stage. So glad he dropped it on the ground instead of pegging it across the crowd!!! What are they like!!! lol Anyways, if you scrounge around and find a ticket floating about somewhere give him to me!!!!! I'd love/need/want to see you vs the Sydney Symphony Orchestra at the State Theatre in Feb. Went to see Matilda a couple of days before Christmas and it totally exceeded expectations. As a lover of Roald Dahl, musical theatre, and of course Tim Minchin, I can honestly say it was the best show I have ever seen! (and trust me, I've been to a fair few haha) SO AMAZING. The soundtrack CD is still constantly being played. My Minchin adoration has reached new heights, which I thought impossible.

I believe that it was a year ago when I first learned of Tim Minchin while watching Conan on American T.V. He sang "Inflatable You" and he had me at;"She has all the holes real girls have got plus one for the air" (hoping that's accurate). So, two blissful concerts, two DVDs and several CDs later I am loving this man so much more than I ever could have imagined. My reason for this particular post? I have just heard Timmy the Dog and I do not understand why it wasn't a huge hit. This CD is wonderful and each time I listen to it I appreciate it more...just like my feelings for Tim.

So thrilled to secure tickets for your Brisbane show and obviously can't wait. We'll be the 'restricted view' (RV) seats, and therefore we are looking forward to 'hearing' you. Really! Since watching your SSO gig on TV (just a few times?? Bless Austar Record) my family has branded me as 'obsessed', a claim that is totally unsubstantiated. Just because I wander about the house humming your songs does not constitute obsession? Seriously entertaining (you, not my family) as well as thought- provoking. Keep on provoking, and thanks for making me laugh. A lot.

Dear Tim, I just can't get enough of your Rock'n Roll nerd and just wanted to let you know that I put this brilliant rhapsody right next to my other 2 favorite rock'n roll rhapsodies. (I'm guessing THE one I don't need to name, the other one I really love is 'Music was my first love'). So congratulations, you made it! ;) (Even so, to be honest, you will forever ask yourself if it wasn't because of the Stairways at the end, won't ya? :-D) All the best for 2012!

Hi! You are probably not going to read this, but I'm leaving a message here anyway... just to leave a message and say hi! Also wanted to say thank you, thank you for being who you are and doing what you do. Your songs and shows makes me laugh and smile every time! And I listen/watch them almost daily. Need my daily dose of Tim. It really would have been amazing to see you live sometime, so if you ever get a chance to maybe come to Norway, or close to Norway, DO IT! Cause Norway is beautiful, and then you would make my dream come true! Still love you if you don't though, Linda.

Hi Tim my name is Emily an i live in the UK. I reccently bought your new DVD and i just want to say that i think that is is AMAZING! I have been following your work for sometime now and i think you abserloutely halarious and that you should do TV more often. My favorite poem of yours is 'STORM' this is because it is cleverly worded and the point of the whole poem is spot on. I think you are an articulated truth on legs and I will be following your work from now on! Thank You for just being you.

Hey Tim I'm 16 I live in Australia. I'd just like to say I have recently been getting into the whole singing thing, due to the support of my sister who say I have alright natural talent, and I'd just like to say that your a big inspiration to me and I love a few of your songs. Hope you have an awesome time touring in Australia in Jan-Feb, I wish I was aware that you were touring here before every venue near me sold out, haha, oh well.

Damn you and your popularity Minchin. I've managed to find myself without Sydney tickets, and because of such rabid popularity, there is not a single one a'floggin on ebay. It's not my fault either. I was sunning myself on an island in the south pacific and missed the sale date. There, that should rouse some sympathy. I'll be at each performance in cursing, spitting spirit. :)
JaniM on Thursday, 5 January 2012
I just recently found about your album Sit with Timmy the Dog band and wondered is there any way that those songs like 18 year old lesbian could be found in the Internets? And is there any plans to see you perform in Finland? I have been playing with idea of a message ringtone for my phone loosely based on your song Not Perfect. Something on the lines of "This is my phone, it has messages..." keep being awesome :)
David Bruce on Thursday, 5 January 2012
Sir I have only been recently introduced to your work. I am in awe of the talent that you have. Your insight and wit are inspiring to me. You do certainly make me smile. I am so pleased that someone who is a free thinker has gained exposure in mainstream entertainment. I believe that you are one of the seeds of peace in this world of ours. If you can make just a few people question the validity of the myths that they have been taught for so long, perhaps as a species we can look past antiquated cultural differences, and move forward. Cheers

Hey, have just read about the Jonathan Ross nonsense... made me angry! I'm an RS teacher (who's unusually NOT about preaching religion to them I hasten to add!) and spend every day grappling with the concept of questioning and being open-minded enough to listen, challenge and make up their own minds in an INFORMED manner, and it really grates on me that stuff like this happens! Whatever happened to freedom of expression?! How religious people can expect religious tolerance to ever happen if we don't have tolerance of challenging/questioning religion is beyond me... I honestly can't decide if atheist zealots or religious zealots are worse! All c***ts in my opinion! Anyway... I shall be reading your writing about this and playing the song (which is again another brilliant one from you!) to my GCSE classes this week... as I think it's a travesty it got cut! So thanks for providing me with what I expect will be a good discussion lesson this week! Also - was chuffed to hear profits from White Wine in the Sun are going to the NAS, worked with that charity a lot and it does such good work, good choice :)

lisa on Wednesday, 4 January 2012
Hey, Tim :) new fan here, I don't really have much interesting to say but I just wanted to tell you how unbelievably talented and amazing you are. I know you're probably getting sick of hearing it from all your crazy fans but I've been watching your youtube videos on repeat for long, probably unhealthy periods of time and I've never been to one of your shows before but hopefully when you come back to Scotland that can be solved! Love :)

Dougie on Tuesday, 3 January 2012
Hey, I know it's probably a little late, but I only found out now, but well done with the Storm video. Well done, from someone of, to put it diplomatically, very little skill in video making. But for what it's worth, among the sea of adoring (and sometimes, weirdly stalker-ish) fans, good job. P.S. Just to let you know, not all the world either hate your work or are literally throwing themselves at you. Some of us just appreciate your genius and boldness to say what others wont :). Keep having fun with your work, and if it becomes boring, take the royalties and run. Doug :D P.S. (Again) thanks for reading this far. Have a cookie.
Dan on Monday, 2 January 2012
Hey tim, been following your work now for a few years now and I must say your music just gets better and better. The mixture of humour, wit and elegance in your song writing amazes me ( great piano playing too). Keep up the good work, dan.

Hey tim, i'm a big fan of your work, i believe you hear that alot, but you inspire me, your music is somewhat beautiful and obviously humour filled. Whenever i have had a bad day i watch your dvd's listen to my ipod and everythings in a better perspective. I'm in foster care and sometimes life can be hard but your comedy yet realistic veiws on the world allow my opinion to change, and i love and will carry on loving your work :) please reply to me

I'm just one of those that wants to say 'hi', so 'hi!'. I also love your songs and have just bought one of your cds. Despite your wild (but lovable!) appearance, your songs are sensitive, subtle, and touching. I love the sentiments of Not Perfect and the Christmas song, which turned my heart into soft butter when I first heard them. Happy new year.

Hello! I heard in one of your shows you mentioned your child being from an orphanage in Moldova! Me and 7 more youths from Sweden was in Moldova about a month ago, helping children in orphanages that had been the victim of trafficing! We were in Chisinau and Ivancea, visiting the orphanages of "C.R.A.C". From which village/city did you adopt? Was it one of the CRACs orphanages? Please answer to me on my e-mail, this is really important to me and my friends. Love your songs and standups, Martin

Let me add to the chorus of those who love your work. It's so refreshing to hear someone who literally celebrates a secular perspective and I have a weakness for clever lyrics. One complaint, I don't see any dates in the U.S. on your calender. We are still here and we are not a theocracy...yet. So get here while you can! :-) BTW - you have no right both playing the piano and singing with so much skill and at the same time.
