I would like to see you in Finland

THANK YOU for performing as you did at the Reason Rally! Tim, I find inspiration in your music, in your work. I was abused by fundamentalist Christians for decades, at one time being a resident of a horrible "Christian Home for Wayward Girls", New Bethany, in Louisiana, where we were beaten and tortured mentally, physically, and emotionally. YOUR work is a wonderful, healing dance of life! Thank you.

Hi Melodie, I just had to write in after I read your comment to tell you that my husband thinks "Sam's Mum's Cataracts" is one of the greatest songs of all time. That Tim can perform that long and complex song, which blasts off like a rocket after the slower introduction and barely leaves him a moment to breathe, all the time looking at the audience and not at his hands playing that complicated music is a MIRACLE in itself. He did a fantastic version of it at the Sydney Opera House (which was telecast live here in Australia) and the follow-up was hysterical, as he explained why he had 'fluffed' one of the lyrics (we hadn't even noticed). I think you just need to get yourself a DVD player that is 'universal' and you can access any of his DVD's. 'Sam's Mum' is a masterstroke of cleverness and we find ourselves quoting the lyrics all the time. Lucky you to have been at the Reason Rally - it must have been a blast.

Melodie on Thursday, 29 March 2012

I discovered some of your work on YouTube last November when I was prowling around for non-Christian holiday music to share with/annoy my Facebook friends and office colleagues. I'm not sure why I'd decided to do that, as I've spent the last 54 Decembers unperturbed by Christmas carols, but anyway.... Your name came up in the search engine, and White Wine in The Sun became my gateway drug. Some months later, when I heard you would be at the Reason Rally, I couldn't believe my good luck. (Crazy monkey that I am, I actually pinched myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming.) Suddenly, joining some younger friends on the drive from Ohio to D.C. felt like a journey to Neverland or somewhere else unearthly, not to be believed. LOVED the story about Sam's Mum (which I hadn't heard before). Seeing you perform Storm during a break in the rain was delightful. And jumping for Jesus was a blast, too. Thankyouthankyouthankyou. You really are so fucking rock. I do have one BIG complaint, though. I have a few of your CDs, but why I can't buy your DVDs in U.S. format? So much of your performances are visual. Also, I'd love to see Matilda.

Jamus on Thursday, 29 March 2012

Thank you. Just thank you. You say the things I think, and you say them so much more beautifully and engagingly than I could myself. Sing it loud Tim, these things need to be heard. It's time the human race grew up.

Alex on Wednesday, 28 March 2012

Oh please please please come to Russia. Thx.

EssexDee on Wednesday, 28 March 2012

Just another gentle prod to come to Victoria, British Columbia... or, perhaps, Vancouver. Seattle isn't far away, either - and you ROCKED it last June!

Lucy Dams on Wednesday, 28 March 2012

Just bought my Swansea Summer Ball ticket! Its absolutely made my year to find out you'll be playing =) This will be my third and possibly final year at Swansea and I couldn't think of a better way of saying goodbye! Am looking forward to it =)

Nymeria on Wednesday, 28 March 2012

I'm a Spanish translation&interpreting student and I must thank you not only the funny mornings I've passed watching your videos but the lots of words and stuff I've learnt from them. I think your songs are a very useful tool not just to laugh but to learn, and even more for people like me who have not English as mother-tongue and know (or knew) little about the general culture in the English-speaking countries. So, for all your wonderful songs... thank you very much

theBreaksmith on Wednesday, 28 March 2012

effing brilliant!

John Kavanagh on Tuesday, 27 March 2012

Can't believe I've only just heard of you (thanks to my daughter). White Wine in the Sun makes this grown man cry and I can't even work out why. I'd like to shake your hand and simply thank you for your pure genius.

Reanne on Monday, 26 March 2012

Thank you for making the sun shine in D.C. as well as in my brain, heart and, occasionally, my pants.

Michelle on Monday, 26 March 2012

Enjoyed your performance at the Reason Rally in Washington, D.C., US. You're hilarious, well informed, and have a great way of making a point. My husband recently introduced me to your work, and I felt totaly spoiled to see you live. We'd love it if you would come to The Grand in Wilmington, Delaware, US.

Sam on Monday, 26 March 2012

Saw you at the Reason Rally, never heard of you before. Damn the bad luck....

Jan Lavoipierre on Monday, 26 March 2012

Love your work. Two things have happened to me recently. 1. I turned 70 2. I found you I'm loving both. When are you coming back to Melbourne (Aust.)?

Mrrzy on Monday, 26 March 2012

You were grand at the Reason Rally! Though new to me, your work was obviously well-known to the crowd, obviously better-informed then I... love your work and look!

Pat McCann on Monday, 26 March 2012

Never knew you existed. Love that I saw you at the Reason Rally. I am now a huge fan. Thanks for your work.

Amanda D. on Sunday, 25 March 2012

Hey Tim, thanks so much for being there for the Reason Rally, which we have followed from down here in Oz (thanks to your involvement). We had no idea until we read about it, how marginalised secular people are in the USA. Who would have thought that possible? Freedom of thought must surely be everyone's right. Coming from a country where we have an atheist Prime Minister, we Australians don't realise how free we actually are. Just one thing though - my (scientist) husband was very alarmed to see you - on youtube - with bare feet in the wet with all those electrical cables around. He felt that was one risk too many and hopes you give your personal safety a higher priority next time. After all, we all need you to keep on keeping on! Anyway, thanks for giving your time and talent to a worthy cause. Even the godly should surely agree that church and state should be separate - its a human right.

Jeff Sholl on Sunday, 25 March 2012

The wife and I attended the Reason Rally and we both loved you! Keep up the amazing work! (and whenever I'm outside and cold I will remember to "Jump for Jesus! Jump for Jesus! Jump for Jesus.......to go away!")

Erica on Sunday, 25 March 2012

Mark on Thursday, 22 March 2012

Tim Pure genius,I have seen you many times on the box, but unfortunately not live...big comedy fan and seen some in my time...keep it up... A fellow skeptic.... CYA back in OZ sometime

Stephanie on Tuesday, 20 March 2012

You have no idea how many minutes I've listened to you, Tim, singing. When I listen to a song many times, I usually grow bored of it. But with you? No way! I just love listening to you. I've listened to your songs so many times that I know the lyrics to even the longest ones, like "Storm," one of your more popular pieces. You also have no idea how excited I am for "Matilda: The Musical," either. Sadly, I can't simply go to London to watch the play -- but, believe me, I would really love to do so. I'm hoping for a DVD to come out for the people who can't visit other countries. Is it going to happen? I sure hope so. I can't bear thinking that I can't see something that has granted you a lot of new fans. ): Anyways, keep on rocking, Tim!

Marie on Sunday, 18 March 2012

Mr Minchin, I have just watched your documentary and I am very pleased that you shared that part of your life with us. I may be so many years behind in your sucess but i am very pleased to have found out more. I hope all of your family are very well and healthy and i was so disappointed when i was unable to see your show in london. You are fantastic in what you do. Try not to be disheartened by critics. Unfortunately with every piece of success we achieve there is always someone behind us ready to encourage a downfall. This ever so pc world restricts us so much that we are misunderstood when trying to state obvious matters. I hope that you have stop torturing yourself with how many people you upset, because you create so much thought provokative material. Good luck to you and all of your family xxx

Louise on Sunday, 18 March 2012

You are so brilliantly off the wall with talent, and i am huge fan of your's...thanks to youtube one year ago. If ever in Canada please try and drop by our city of Victoria, Britsh Columbia..All Canadians need to know Tim Minchin! :)

Gina on Sunday, 18 March 2012

Tim... Time is ticking away.....The reason Rally is coming and I can't be there, extremely difficult time in family life.....Timing can be so very cruel....If I could I would walk there...If you are on the borderline of thinking of going and you can afford to go please consider being there for those of us that can not. For those going I envy your getting to go and wish you The Greatest Time and Lots on Reasoning.....

Kida on Friday, 16 March 2012

Ciara on Thursday, 15 March 2012

you should definitely do an irish gig this year :) i will personally do all the advertising for the minimal cost of a free ticket and a pint haha ..... reckon it would be good for the religious nuts here to hear your views :)

Matthew on Wednesday, 14 March 2012

Mr. Minchin, if you ever feel like you want to do a show in a theatre that pales in comparison to the Royal Albert Hall, and significantly downgrade your career then a perfect place to play is the Cumbernauld Theatre, in Cumbernauld, in Scotland! You'd have me, sitting in the front seat, so close that I could smell your exposed feet! Think about it?

Vicki Perkins on Wednesday, 14 March 2012

Tim!!!! Me and a few of my friends are on an exchange in Sweden and have come across some canvas bags we thought you would be interested in!!! Is there an address we could send a picture to?? Hey Tim! I can't believe I only discovered you last year! I first saw you on the Comedy Prom when it was on TV (also listened when it was on the radio), and have been in love ever since! (My parents wouldn't let me watch your shows before then; I'm only 14 now!) Since seeing you on the Comedy Prom, I have bought 2 of and seen all of your DVDS (recorded them from when they were on TV)! Every single one is amazing! I think you are an amazing musician, and have been to see you live at Hammersmith when you were doing Crisis At Christmas in 2011. I hope to see you live again this year and would give anything to meet you! I love you! :) - Sophie x

Tim Southgate on Sunday, 4 March 2012

Hi, just wanted to leave a message saying how much I'm enjoying Matilda. I live and study in Sydney but had the great privilege of seeing it in October last year. It was one of the best musicals I've seen in a long time, great music and wonderful performances (the Matilda and Trunchbull were out of this world!). Such a great thing, you should be very proud mate!

Louise on Sunday, 4 March 2012

where do you live? I will come and bring you cookies. Lou (x) (ps should "grammatically correct be hyphenated?", "individuals WHO not THAT"....c'mon Tim.....must try harder at the OCD methinks)

Veli Nyström on Sunday, 4 March 2012

Hi! Great stuff man, discovered you a while ago in Youtube, more accurately my friend linked me the "3-minute-song". You are very talented musically and your sense of humor is great (plus the criticism against certain issues like some aspescts in religions), awesome songs and performance. Keep it up mate, I hope I'll get to see you perform live some day! Ps. I guess you do not exactly lack fans, but just to let you know these greetings come from Finland and it would be so fantastic if you sometime got to perform here. Cheers!

Liz on Friday, 2 March 2012

Hi Tim, I just tried to increase the bid for your shirt on EBay but I think it is only available to UK residents? Just wondering...... Would be happy to help the cause!

TIM!!! Please, come to POLAND! You have a lot of fan here. We loved you! Please, Please, Please!!! Kocham!

amy greenwald on Thursday, 1 March 2012

URGENT: How can we get tix to Matilda on Broadway? I want the first week, or even to the first show, if possible, with our 6 and 8 year old girls, who love you as much they love Matilda and Roald Dahl (and that's a whole lot!). Here's proof of their love for you, from my six year old. A short story by her, clearly inspired by one of your classic tunes (and by my food nazism): "And 2 big fat children came to a party one day. They did not like it that much because it only had vegetables and they did not like vegetables. And that's why they were fat children. I think that they will die from a heart attack." I will accept responsibility for insisting she always eat her vegetables. But the heart attack thing -- that is all you, Tim. I never said a word about it.

Rob Hancock on Thursday, 1 March 2012

Hi. Just a quick comment to say that I first discovered you a few years ago. I was studying A-Level Philosophy, when my friend introduced the song "Ten foot cock and a few hundred virgins". Since then I have brought the dvds, listened to songs on youtube and regularly follow you on twitter. Oh, that last bit does sound rather stalkish. Any how, you are hilarious and brilliant like, all the other comments. Keep going and I hope to see you in the future, like some of my friends.
