Can’t wait a couple of months to see Tim playing with you local symphony orchestra? Well fear not because ABC2 are showing ‘Ready For This?‘ tomorrow night, 21st December, at 8:30pm!

I know you probably all have the DVD but this is the perfect time to grab your grannies, aunts, uncles and favourite pastor and introduce them to the world of Tim. Who could ask for a better Christmas present than that? I know I certainly can’t think of anything I’d like more!

You will be watching, right?

He saw it, wrote it and sang it……..a rare musical satirist of extraordinary talent.
A show of brilliant insights of human existence.

Saw the second half of Ready for This on ABC2 while scrolling channels. Enjoyed Tim’s performace so much that afterwards I ordered the DVD online by express post so that I could share it with my partner who was out at the time. The family became Minchin converts over Christmas. We loved the Phil Daoust ‘tribute’ (what a nasty man – we read his critique), Storm and White Wine in the Sun. The new DVD, already on loan, complements very nicely our Bill Bailey and Billy Connelly collections.

I watched this against my better judgement – I say “against my better judgement” because I’d had surgery a week before. I still laughed and “ouched” my way through the show and enjoyed it immensely!

Saw the shoe on ABC2, just brilliant !! good material, good delivery and great piano work.

I set an alarm so I wouldn’t miss it. Fabulous show, as always. Tim’s art is genius, self-deprecating, thoughtful, candid, touching, and fn hilarious. Can’t wait for him to visit Melbourne again. I always want to thank performers who’ve moved me – either to laughter or tears – and the show on the ABC did both, so double thanks for you art Tim. Merry Christmas.

I certainly DID watch – haven’t seen you before and you have a new fan. It’s been a while since I have been wrenched so effectively from laughing my guts out to sniffing tears …. shall check for gigs in Oz

Last night’s airing of “Ready for This” on ABC2 was my first Tim Minchin experience. I know. I have been living in Plato’s cave. What a watershed moment it was. Fantastic, bizarre, brilliant stuff. Loved “Storm”.
I’ve just finished Hitchen’s “God is Not Great” and am currently reading Dawkins’ “The God Delusion” so strumbling across your show was very timely. Charge forth Tim, the world needs more of you.

Olivia on 22nd of December 2010

Er… I’m 21, seriously I thought the fanbase was all my age, is Tim really a ‘fun for all the family’ act? I wouldn’t show ’10 foot cock’ to my grandma to be honest…

Paintmehappy on 21st of December 2010

Brilliant, loved it all but the Christmas song made me cry a bit. Awesome talent – genius, it really doesn’t get much better than that! From another tired middle aged lady…hmmm I think I am detecting a theme here.

George Goring on 21st of December 2010

Stumbled on the show. Couldn’t turn away. Absolutely brilliant!! A gifted talent.

A Headlam on 21st of December 2010

I love Tim’s convo with Storm, and the non-dancing bears.
Love love love I know what I want for xmas xx

Rosemary on 21st of December 2010

watched Tim Minchin tonight on ABC2, loved it !! Especially the anti creation bit & the hippy trippy riff, & the music. A true original for these times… another really old girl fan with a ranga son.

Ginger on 21st of December 2010

I’m a woman in her mid-60’s and I think Tim Minchin rocks!!!!! His universal appeal spans all ages. I just watched Ready For This on the ABC and it made my day – no, my week – no, my year! This guy is brilliant, clever, great lyricist, even better pianist, deep, shallow, frivolous, did I say deep, excruciatingly clever, sweet, I repeat – deep. And simply mesmerising.

Can’t wait to see him live in March.

All the best to Tim, Sarah, et al for Christmas and 2011 and evermore.

Rob Smallwood on 21st of December 2010

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! Every single moment of it! Tim Minchin is simply brilliant!

RSA Now on 21st of December 2010

Thanks ABC2, had not heard of Tim before tonight. Funny stuff!! Gonna have to go lookup the back catalog now!!

Olivia on 20th of December 2010

Oh man, life would be really really boring without Tim Minchin. Seriously.

jpguitarman on 20th of December 2010

Hells yeah I’ll be watching!!!

another Kathryn on 20th of December 2010

Did anyone at Saturday’s ‘gig’ also get a voyeuristic buzz from watching Tim’s ecstasy at living his dream of being “so fucking rock” it was delicious. Tim you could soo…… be a ‘rock star’, with bells on, the voice, the looks the songs the sound. But it would be such a loss because you are so much more than that. You are our cool friend (who says the things we wish we could say, even the very dark thoughts we are embarrassed to have for a fleeting second .. yes I too have kids), the articulate eloquence and just plain loveable smart arsed-ness and mostly you are our conscience …you make people think..I just wanted to let you know what effect you have on us. I miss you already… till next time…another Kathryn xx

Lynne on 20th of December 2010

Kathryn – I am also a tired middle aged woman, with 3 young children, limited patience and an ever decreasing stock of rarely used, out of date spirits, who’s reaction to Mr Minchin on Saturday in Nottingham mirrors yours. I just hope we don’t cramp his style!

Maja Toudal on 20th of December 2010

I would be watching, if I didn’t live in Denmark, where cool channels don’t exist :D

But I am making a huge effort to spread the word of Minchin around the country.

kathryn on 20th of December 2010

Saw Tim and orchestra in Nottingham on Saturday night. Wow! Can’t stop thinking about it, talking about him, singing the songs and wearing the T Shirt! I think the comedy is genius; the way he teases the audience and manipulates our reactions, coupled with the quality of the musicianship, hypnotic voice and inventively tantalizing lyrics – I have not been so excited about an artist since I discovered Johnny Depp years ago!!! Thank-you for making a tired middle aged lady sit up, think and laugh again!!

Matt on 20th of December 2010

just set the PVR to record….

Ash on 20th of December 2010

Awesome! Merry Christmas to me!

Misch Kilner on 20th of December 2010

Fkn oath!!!!!
