Tim will be featuring in an episode of Anh’s Brush With Fame on ABC TV on 1st May.

The series will screen on Wednesdays at 8pm starting on 17th April on the ABC and ABC iview. (The episodes will be repeated the following Sunday at 5:30pm).

In each episode comedian, author and two-time Archibald Prize winning artist Anh Do paints a portrait of his sitters, whilst he talks to them in-depth about their life and work, as he decides how he’ll depict them. Along with Tim, this fourth series includes: Michael Clarke, Lindy Chamberlain Creighton, Leah Purcell, Walter Mikac, Dannii Minogue, Alan Jones, Saroo Brierley, Deborah Hutton, Georgie Parker, Gordian Fulde, Kylie Kwong, David Wenham and Archie Roach.

UPDATE: For those not in Australia and unable to watch on ABC iview, the embedded Tweets below show a few clips and (SPOILER ALERT) the finished portrait.

It’s an interesting concept, but for all of the incredible responses Anh draws from his sitters, l believe he’d achieve better visual results if he worked on those portraits over a longer period. Otherwise the amazing responses are negated by the inaccurate nature of speed portraiture.

I’ve been a mega-fan for 10-plus years. But I replay your songs and count on you most when feeling down.

As an American who can only be described as surviving the Drumph presidency you’re my best pal.

Thank you for keeping my head out of the oven.

I loved the interview and also seeing new photos of Tim, Sarah and his family growing up. Of course, as a rusted-on Tim fan, I also wanted everyone to know how very multi-talented he is and was hoping for clips from Jesus Christ Superstar etc. But a half hour is limited and can’t include everything. I thought the portrait was great but also questioned the choice of green eyes (especially as Anh commented on his lovely eyes) and the grey hair on the top of his head, which is so clearly auburn. But the rapport between artist and subject was palpable and a real joy to watch.

Absolutely loved the interview and painting of Tim Minchin. Truly an amazing portrait. Anh is so accomplished at interviewing skills and a talented artist.

Really enjoyed Tim’s appearance on Anh’s shoe. And the portrait is great!!!! (And they can, frankly, be a bit hit and miss) The only thing I wonder is, why green eyes???

Is there a way to watch this from the UK/other places outside Oz?
