Thirteen years since my last stage role… so I thought I’d ease gently back in with this behemoth. VERY excited to play Ebenezer in this beautiful production created by so many of my dear friends. (It’s still well over a year away, so no excuse for those of ya who don’t live in Australia — plenty of time to find a berth on an appropriate sailboat.)

Cat in the Hat theme song release! Woohoo. (The movie is absolutely gorgeous. Can’t wait to see it all finished on the big screeeeeeen.)
I love this beautiful reimagining of the story of The Cat In The Hat, and was pumped when the team asked me to write his song. The question we asked ourselves was, “if The Cat (being a genius, but perhaps not exactly a gifted songwriter!) made up a little theme tune to sing to himself when he was on his missions, what bonkersness would he come up with? And how would we lowly humans then translate that bit of Cat insanity into an absolute banger?” Well… Voila!
I was honoured to close the live celebration of the 30th birthday of the iconic ABC telly show, Australian Story. It’s not the first time I’ve played that song in the Sydney Opera House concert hall, and I dearly hope it won’t be the last. Am a lucky boy. Thanks ABC.
