Hey! Every year, every dollar made from the sale of (either version of) Tim’s sentimental Christmas song White Wine In The Sun during the months of November, December and January, go to an organisation which supports children and adults on the autism spectrum. Once again, that will be Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect).

If you already have the song, you might like to gift it via iTunes or donate directly here.

There are two versions; the 2009 solo version and the 2012 studio version, with strings, french horn and more.

Here are a few more places you can download the 2012 single internationally: iTunes, Amazon (UK), Amazon (US) .

OK sailors, here’s the goss on upcoming shows. Big breath…

MELBOURNE: As most of you know, we can no longer play to a full capacity crowd this weekend. It’s a total bugger, BUT – with a lot of work and wiggling and a few minor miracles – we are now going to do 6 shows at half capacity! Friday, Saturday and Sunday are going ahead, BUT HALF OF YOU WILL BE ASKED TO MOVE to a show next week. Which is obviously really annoying, but hopefully better than cancelling. And on the upside, you will have considerably better seats at the rescheduled shows! Silver linings. Small mercies. Grimacing smiley faces. The venue will be contacting you today or tomorrow. PLEASE keep an eye on your email.

BRISBANE and SYDNEY: Sadly, despite our desperate best efforts, we are moving dates to August and September respectively. Again, you will be contacted by your ticketing agency, so please keep an eye out for the email. NEWCASTLE, you should have already been contacted about that reschedule.

I’m so sorry about all this. It’s a total fucker of a thing. Meanwhile, please, if you get a chance, get a frickin vaccine.
Thanks! Love Tim.

Hi! This is Tim talking here. Hope you’re all still paddlin’. Funny old river, this one.

I wanna tell you about the charities we’re supporting, in Australia and New Zealand, this year through our BACK encore tour.

Some of you know that ever since I started touring again in early 2019, I’ve sold 50 premium-priced “VIP” seats per night and donated that money to charity (all of it, thanks to cooperation from venues and promoters and ticketing companies).

It generally comes to about $AU10K a night… and if we manage to (finally!) get through this “encore” tour, then BACK will have raised around a million bucks. Which, if you’ll forgive me, makes me pretty fucking proud. And grateful, too, that my audience members are so keen to snap those tickets up. They are, after all, very bloody overpriced. Mwahahaaa.

In 2019, the charities were varied, and you can find out all about them here.

In the aborted 2020 tour, and its current reboot, I have decided to focus on independent theatre and dance. It has been a terrible time for that sector, with funding cuts and covid both playing their role in threatening the survival of really fantastic companies. So in every city we play, my completely awesome management team have helped me find wonderful organisations to gift some dosh to.

Find out all about the recipients below. (And thank you again, so much, for helping us with this project.)

*Oh, btw, while I’m virtue-signaling… we’re also making this tour as GREEN as possible. In fact, we’re going for carbon neutral. Find out more about that project here.*

xx

Carry You, written by Tim for UPRIGHT and released by Missy Higgins, has been nominated in the Song of the Year category at the 2021 APRA Music Awards.

The APRA Music Awards celebrate excellence in contemporary music, honouring songwriters and publishers who have achieved artistic excellence and outstanding success in their fields.

Tim: “I am very pleased indeed that Carry You (as sung by the great Missy Higgins) has been nominated for APRA AMCOS APRA Song of the Year. It’s up against songs by Tame Impala, Amy Shark, Midnight Oil & Dan Sultan, Guy Sebastian, so I’ve got feck-all chance of winning… but YAY! Really thrilled actually, cos it’s peer voted and all. And am also excited cos on the awards night, another Aussie artist (I don’t know who – it’s a secret) will play a version of it live!”

You’ll find the full list of nominees for the 2021 APRA Music Awards here.

Playlists of the nominated songs can be streamed on YouTube Music, Spotify and Apple Music.

The 2021 APRA Music Awards take place on Wednesday 28th April at the International Convention Centre Grand Ballroom at Darling Harbour in Sydney. You’ll be able to watch rolling highlights on the night via the APRA AMCOS YouTube channel.

Tim is returning to Adelaide on Saturday 12th June 2021, bringing BACK back for an encore as a part of the Adelaide Cabaret Festival.

Tickets on sale Wednesday 24th February at 12pm (AEDT) here.

UPDATE: Due to demand a second date has been added – Sunday 13th Junetickets on sale now.

Tim: “I love Adelaide, and I can’t wait to bring “BACK” back for another spin. I first played the Adelaide Cabaret Festival in 2004 – at the late-night slot in the foyer of Festival Theatre. Since then, Adelaide has been home to so many huge moments for me: comedy shows in tents, musicals in arenas, filming Upright, orchestra shows and festival openings… I always adore my time there.”

Tim: “This is exciting. I have two songs on the shortlist for APRA AMCOS Song Of the Year. There are many excellent songs on the list, including a statistically unlikely number of West Aussies, which is nice, if you’re into parochialism, which I am, rarely. This is the award that Paul Kelly won a few years ago for “Firewood and Candles”, which my band and I performed at the awards dinner. Last time I was nominated was for Come Home (Cardinal Pell), which Kate Miller-Heidke performed when it ended up in the top 5.
So there.”

The APRA Music Awards celebrate excellence in contemporary music, honouring songwriters and publishers who have achieved artistic excellence and outstanding success in their fields.

The Song Of The Year shortlist will be cut down to five final nominees in March, before the 2021 APRA Music Awards take place on Wednesday 28th April at the International Convention Centre Grand Ballroom at Darling Harbour in Sydney.
